Charco makes it possible to recode character chains, whether in Linux or iconv, but much more portable, accessible and comfortable for the user. For this you have a graphic interface (missing in these two) and a special emphasis on ease of use.
The main feature of Charco is the inclusion of a user interface to complete these character conversions. It is simple to use: The program permits the insertion of a chain, represented by a determined collection of characters, and offers the same chain, as a resulting file, represented by a different collection of characters. You just have to indicate the initial file and click on the conversion button.
Charco is very flexible in order to do this. It has support for all character collections and codifications of practically all platforms: Windows, Linux and even OS X. This obviously means total compatibility with UTF codifications, which are the most used.
